Members of the public are being invited to choose their favourite Christmas Skipton shop window and enter a free prize draw. Skipton Chamber of Trade & Commerce has invited Skipton shops and businesses to enter the competition and dress their windows with the theme, Christmas Dreams and Wishes. Spear Travels, recently opened a branch in Skipton, on Newmarket Street and joined as members of the Chamber. They have generously donated a prize of £400 of travel vouchers to the winning entry drawn.
Secretary of the Chamber of Trade, Wendy Lawson, explained, “We wanted to create an opportunity for members of the public to enjoy exploring the diverse range and quality of shops and businesses within the town. Spear Travels have been hugely supportive of this initiative by donating a prize which could provide an opportunity for a member of the public to perhaps fulfil their own dreams and wishes too, and win vouchers which can be used towards a holiday, short or half term break of their choice.”
Forms for the competition will be available in each shop taking part in the competition; this will be indicated by a red heart, over printed with a holly sprig, displayed in the window. Entrants are asked to name their favourite shop window and can include a short explanation on the form. Entries are collected by the Chamber and Spear Travels and the draw to randomly choose the winning entrant will take place following the Christmas display period. Entries will then be checked for first, second and third prize winning shops and awarded a trophy at the end of the week.
