Tour de France Window Display Competition Winners

25 June 2014

The Skipton Chamber of Trade & Commerce would like to thank everyone for participating in the Window Display Competition celebrating the forthcoming Tour de France Grand Depart in Yorkshire over the weekend of 5th & 6th July 2014.

This has enhanced the look of the town and added an exciting buzz to the build up to this massive and once in a lifetime event for Skipton.

38 businesses have competed in this Chamber initiative and all the entries have been inventive and well executed.

Judges Pete Williams, a professional cyclist and Declan Hayes, Chairman of the Craven Triathlon Club, had a very hard task choosing the final winner and runners up. They doubled checked their choices before coming to a final decision.

Winners:
Birdcage Charity Shop on the High Street were presented with a trophy, kindly sponsored by HSBC, by the Judges

2nd Place:
Marshall & Marshall on Swadford Street

Runners Up:
Skipton Mill Shop in Rope Walk

Certificates of Commendation:
Cool Cards & Gifts, Coach Street; Stanforth Butchers, Mill Bridge; Christine’s Hair Salon, Otley Street and Age UK, Otley Street, all for their Amusing/Quirky and Well Presented Windows.

We would like to congratulate everyone who took part for their high standard of displays and we have issued all participants with a Certificate of Excellence by way of appreciation of all their hard work and enthusiasm.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone once more for supporting the Skipton Chamber of Trade and Commerce as we once again encourage Skipton businesses to promote events in the town.
